About the route.
Inaugurated in 1928, Canfranc was the third international border crossing and emerged as a result of a struggle by the Aragonese people demanding that a train also pass through the Aragonese Pyrenees, a natural crossing zone for conquerors and pilgrims.
The Canfranero, as it is popularly known, travels the train line between Zaragoza and Canfranc, allowing you to enjoy the diverse landscapes offered by the journey on a historic vintage train, leading us to the various legends and mysteries that accompany our destination.
Nazis, gold, and a spy network surround this station, whose history is brief—only 50 years—but its exploits are extraordinary.
The Tren Azul is a rolling museum that invites you to travel back in time and discover the history of the Spanish railway. Lovingly restored by the Asociación Zaragozana de Amigos del Ferrocarril (AZAFT), this historic train preserves vehicles declared Listed Assets of Aragonese Cultural Heritage.
