About the route
Under the name "Sierra de Guadarrama," the 80s Train will depart from Madrid-Chamartín station early in the morning, traveling its first kilometers along the "Imperial" Madrid-Hendaye line. The journey will pass through the landscapes of El Pardo and the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares Regional Park, with stops in Pitis and Villalba de Guadarrama for passengers to board.
From Villalba, the convoy will take the Segovia line, now on a single track, beginning the climb up the Madrid side of the Guadarrama mountains. In this section, the landscape gives way to an environment marked by granite outcrops and mountain meadows, while the extensive Scots pine forests progressively take center stage.
During the journey, a stop will be made at Tablada station, located at over 1,200 meters above sea level, where a brief photo stop will be held to enjoy the views from the platforms, in a high-mountain setting that marks the natural pass between the Madrid side and the Segovian foothills.
Finally, the train will reach its destination in Segovia around 12:00 PM, giving passengers free time to have lunch and visit the city.
The return journey will take place in the late afternoon, with an expected arrival in Madrid around 8:00 PM, ending an intense and unforgettable railway day.
El Tren de los 80 is a rolling museum that brings back the golden age of rail transport in Spain.
